Volumes have been said on this issue, and the contention and squabbling about where the "hot" one armed bandits are placed in a casino are still there - over sixty yrs after the slots were first placed in casinos.

The traditional rule is that the superior slot games were put just inside the entrance of the casino; so that everyone walking by would be able to see real jackpot winners and be mesmerized enough to come unto the gambling floor and play. Our opinion is that this is definitely no longer so.

Practically all of the big name casinos nowadays are gigantic complexes and you no longer can see inside from the sidewalk, so there is no longer a reason to situate the 'loose' slots close to any exits.

What casinos found over the years is that people walking down the busy aisles were frequently on the way to somewhere else.
